UMY Supports Students on Joining Exchange Program Through IISMA – ICT Preparation Program
On February 10, UMY held the IISMA – ICT Preparation Program at the Alana Hotel and Convention Centre to assist students in preparing for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA). The preparatory program lasted all day and was attended by 18 selected students who met the requirements.
Fitri Arofiati, S.Kep., Ns., MAN., Ph.D., the Director of Cooperation and International Affairs of UMY, presented the opening speech, encouraging students to gather as much knowledge as possible in order to be implemented in the near future. “Everyone here is a selected student to improve Indonesian education quality; we believe that through this competition, everyone will make a meaningful contribution to Indonesian education.”
Ida Puspita M.A.Res, a member of POKJA IISMA since 2021, delivered the first presentation. The presentation focused on the comprehensive information of IISMA – ICT 2023. The discussion was then resumed by Zain Maulana, Ph.D., one of the interviewers for IISMA 2022, who discussed strategies and techniques for nailing an interview.
Aside from the professional lecture, attendees were also given an IELTS lesson. The IELTS preparation program has been running for over ten sessions, and at the end of the class, participants will be given a post-test to assess their English abilities.
The IISMA – ICT Preparation Program concluded with a CV and Motivation Letter review and sharing sessions with prior IISMA Awardees. After the preparation session, participants are expected to be better prepared to take the IISMA and get good results.
