The 3rd UMY Grace Returns to Expand International Collaborations

On Wednesday (10/08) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held an international conference known as the “UMY Grace 2022”. In line with the values of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the young generations played a big role in accelerating development. With the theme “Strengthening Youth Potential for Sustainable Innovation”, UMY Grace encourages the young generations to express their passion for creative and innovative ideas in scientific writing.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budianto, M.P., IPM in his remarks explained how important it is to involve not only lectures but also students in conducting research. “One of the points that existed in Tri Dharma is research that has a strong influence on the development of the nation. For that reason, UMY provides the opportunity for students to publish their research through UMY Grace which all students in the world are very welcome to join. Therefore, the young generations from various subject interests could develop their idea scientifically in this event.”

In addition, UMY Grace also aiming in building a good relations with others universities in the world which proven by collaborating with universities outside Indonesia such as Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Institut Agama Islam Muhammadiyah Sinjai, Kolej Universiti Islam Perlis-Malaysia, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Universitas Bung Hatta, and Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan Ilmu Pendidikan Muhammadiyah Sampit.

Business Management and Accounting, Health and Nursing, Social Humanities, Religious Studies and Law, and Engineering and Technology are the four sub-themes of UMY Grace 2022. There were 380 participants with 362 papers submitted from different institutions in Indonesia and abroad.

This year, 3 keynote speakers Prof. Agus Setyo Muntohar, S.T., M.Eng., Sc., Ph.D., from UMY, Dr. Shazaitul Azreen from University Tun Huseinn Onn Malaysia, and Analisa Widyaningrum, S.Psi., M.Psi., CEO of Analisa Personality Development Center presents to shared knowledge related to this year’s main topic.

“We as the students could express fresh ideas and turn them into reality as well as implement it in daily life thus the people could surely benefit from it.” Says Ibnu Rahmata, the Head of UMY Grace. Furthermore, Ibnu highlighted the importance of the younger generation’s participation and potential role in the future development of Indonesia in his remarks.

Through this third UMY Grace, the young generations are expected to have a place for sharing their brilliant ideas to give a contribution to the nations while achieving the goals of SDGs.
