UMY Expand Its Network with Hannover Medical School!

On this day (17/05), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta once again broaden its network and cooperation with Hannover Medical School, Germany. For your information, Hannover Medical School was established in 1972, because it focuses on only one field, this institution has become one of the leading institutions in Germany and even Europe in terms of research and innovation, especially in the health sector. Prof Jorg Haier and Hannover Medical School are researching cancer, especially cervical cancer in Indonesia.

According to the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Prof. Gunawan Budiyanto, this is a good opportunity for UMY to spread its network and grow our institutions, especially our medical and health science faculty. “We are very pleased to have Hannover Medical School as our partners, hopefully with this MoU Signing, our esteemed institutions could strengthen research and innovation In the health field”. Said Prof. Gunawan in his remarks.

After the remarks from the Rector of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Prof. Jorg Haier and Prof Peter Hillemmans from Hannover Medical School said that they are feeling very privileged to welcome at UMY. Prof. Jorg Haier said that this signing act is the next step for our collaboration, “we are so grateful to come to the Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and we are hoping that this collaboration will be fruitful for us in the future”.

Added by Prof. Peter Hillemanns, he is excited to work with UMY and explained how this collaboration will bring benefits to many people in this country. “I hope by working together, we could make a better understanding of cancer, especially cervical cancer that haunts many women across the world”. Said Peter in his remarks.
