International Students joined UMY’s Orientation Day 2017

Four international students joined  the orientation program organized by UMY or MATAF on Monday (21/8/2017). They are Thunyanun Sarachon from Thailand, Nathalia Melissa Pereira from Brazil both are studies in Govermental Studies and International Relation. Whereas two students from China, Hu GuangTao  and Guo Siyi both majored in English Education. The introduction weeks include a variety of activities that aim to help them settle in smoothly at the University and in student life.

During the event, there are offered Orientation talk by Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive, Dr. H. Haedar Nashir and welcoming performance like Javanese dancing and martial art performances. After that, there joined campus tour hosted by Interntional Relation Offices staff . Moreover in this event they also have the opportunity to wear symbolic coating from the Rector UMY in front of 5233 new students in 2017. Ayni mentioned “This is my great experience to be here with wonderful people and i hope i will get close to my new friends soon”. ” I think UMY is the right choice for me to gain knowledge since i learned Indonesian languange one year ago” said Nathalie who will conducted as full time student in UMY.

Despite MATAF is conducted in Indonesian languange, but all of them are really enjoying all the program and get excited to start the class early this September.
