Enhancing Indonesia-Taiwan Cooperation in the Field of Education, TEC Holds THEF 2019 to Three Cities
Jakarta (28/9), Taiwan Higher Education Fair (THEF) 2019 held at the Pullman Hotel, Central Park, Jakarta, and approximately 43 universities in Taiwan attended the event. This event was held to introduce and invite Indonesian students to continue their studies in Taiwan. Rini Lestari, Chairperson TEC explained that the purpose of keeping the Taiwan Education exhibition in Indonesia was to maintain the existing cooperation between Indonesia and Taiwan in the field of Education.
Rini mentioned that the exhibition began on September 28 at the Pullman Central Park Hotel-Jakarta. Then, it continued on September 29-30 at the Santika Premiere Hotel Dyandra-Medan, and finally on October 1-2 at the Xaverius Centrum Studiorum Palembang.
Furthermore, The Taiwan Ministry of Education supports the organization of this activity. It implemented by the Taiwan Education Center Indonesia Jakarta (under the auspices of Tunghai University) in collaboration with several educational institutions and organizations in Indonesia.
The Taiwan government also provides scholarships for Indonesian students who are interested in continuing their studies in Taiwan, both at the undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral level or to learn Mandarin.
As one of the VIP guests, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) made this event as a means to make hospitality to 11 collaboration partners of UMY. Besides, UMY also took part in the development and determined to expand cooperation with other tertiary institutions in Taiwan. More or less ten new universities will collaborate with UMY. (hnl)
