1900 UMY Students Perform in Regular and International Community Service (KKN)

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) sent 1900 students which were divided into three types of Community Service or Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) namely, Regular KKN, Inbound International KKN, and Outbound International KKN. The opening ceremony took place at UMY Sportorium on (31/12).

The region that will become the drop location is divided into 184 locations in two provinces, namely the Yogyakarta Special Region and Central Java. Yogyakarta Special Region Province consists of Gunung Kidul Regency, Bantul, Sleman, Kulon Progo. While the Central Java province consists of Pemalang, Boyolali, Wonosobo, Magelang, Kebumen and KKN International Regencies divided into 2 countries; Singapore and Malaysia.

Dr. Ir, Rector of UMY. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., IPM. has told KKN participants not to do so many programs. “It’s enough to have 2-3 programs, but it can be done seriously”, he said in the Regular and International Community Service Collection Ceremony.

Besides, the Chairperson of UMY LP3M, Dr. Ir. Gatot Supangkat, S, M.P., IPM. hoped that KKN participants could act as organized community servants from each of the KKN programs conducted by UMY. “The participants can learn to understand the members of the community and become acquainted with the village,” he added.
