UMY sent 6 delegations, organized into 3 teams, to promote UMY in the Philippines from December 2 to 13. Each team represented a distinct region, with Team A covering Davao City and Cebu, Team B covering Iligan and Bukidnon, and Team C covering Tawi-Tawi. All teams are scheduled to meet in Manila.

Under the coordination of Idham Badruzaman, Ph.D., the Head of the International Relations Office, and Dr. Imam Suprabowo, the Head of Student Admission Affairs, Team A organized the UMY Scholarship Fair 2023. The event took place at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao City and will be followed by visits to Ateneo de Davao University, University of Mindanao, University of Visayas, and Cebu Normal University.

The UMY Scholarship Fair 2023, held at the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Davao City, effectively presented detailed information about Indonesia and UMY. Various educational institutions, including universities and high schools, were present at the presentation. These included Davao del Sur State College, University of Immaculate Conception, Assumption College of Davao, Wisdom Islamic School, Al Munawara Islamic School, University of Mindanao, Mindanao Kokusai Daigaku, and Sekolah Indonesia Davao.

Meanwhile, Team B, consisting of Erna Rochmawati, Ph.D., who serves as the Head of the Master of Nursing Department, and Jihan Farah Tsabitah Chandra, S.I.P., the Student Mobility Coordinator of the Office of Cooperation and International Affairs, will conduct visits to various universities and schools in the Philippines. These institutions include Bukidnon State University, Central Mindanao University, Mindanao State University- Iligan State of Technology, and Bukidnon National High School.

Meanwhile, Team C, which includes Dr. Fitriah Binti Muhammad Suud as the Secretary of the Doctoral Programme of Islamic Education Psychology and Aurellia Azh Nindy, S.E., as the coordinator of International Admission of Student Admission Affairs, visits Mindanao State University – Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography (MSU-TCTO), MSU-TCTO Integrated Laboratory School, MSU TCTO Science High School, and Notre Dame of Bongao High School.

The main goal of the UMY Scholarship Fair 2023 in the Philippines is to further the promotion of UMY scholarships and facilitate educational opportunities for Filipino students to pursue studies in Indonesia, fostering a cultural interchange between the two nations. During the ongoing event, multiple promotional events will be organized to support UMY’s program of promoting and internationalizing.
