UMY Delegates visit Schools in Thailand offering Opportunities to Study in UMY

As a commitment of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) to internationalization and its support for the advancement of education in ASEAN nations, UMY has been offering study opportunities to several ASEAN countries. Following the successful completion of the UMY Scholarship Fair in the Philippines last year, Thailand was selected as the destination for the event this year.

Delegates from UMY accompanied by UMY Alumni in Thailand visit a number of schools in Thailand, including Attarkiah School, Darussalam School, Chongratsart Witya School, Samarddee Witya School, Sasnupatam School, Saiburi Islam Wittaya School, Kalamullah Al Quran and Multingual School, Muslim Patanasart School, Salihiyah School, Pharianwittaya School, Srifarida School, Thamavitya School, Phatanasat School, Phatna Wittaya School, Udomsasnwitya School.

UMY delegates were cordially received by the faculty and students of the institution. Hundreds of students were in attendance, and their engagement with the presentation was shown through their insightful questions. In order to pursue a bachelor’s degree, UMY provided high school students in Thailand with both full and partial scholarships. UMY is additionally always open to prospective collaborations in the form of staff exchange, community service, internships, and joint research for the teacher and staff.

This visitation is expected to lead to the improvement of education standards in both Thailand and Indonesia, as well as to the strengthening of ties between Thai and UMY institutions.
