UMY Collaborate with Daarut Tauhiid Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin on Internationalization Programs
On November 23, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Daarut Tauhiid Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin officially join hands-on education by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Ahmad Dahlan Mosque UMY. The MoU signing was also part of the UMY Gathering event where the top high school around Yogyakarta and outside Yogyakarta gathered to discuss the internationalization programs of UMY.
The MoU included the cooperation on distributing high school students to study at the international programs UMY. There will be 16 students from each high school that passed all the selections, and 2 students will attend the 8 international programs at UMY.
The Rector of UMY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto M.P., IPM., encouraged the participants to initiate internationalization programs at their school. It will give international exposure to the students and to adapt to today’s situation. “We also have an international event such as the International Cultural Culinary Festival which some of our students who were on the committee for the event received a scholarship to study abroad.”
Furthermore, UMY believed that students in top schools have extraordinary abilities in soft skills and hard skills that will be adjusted to the relevant international programs at UMY, he added.
