UMY Cooperate with Government of Berau on Community Service

Regional development is needed to improve people’s well-being and living standards, along with the region’s economy. As a result, cooperation between Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and the Government of Berau might well benefit both parties. UMY could support the acceleration of development in Berau while also achieving the goals of higher education principles.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by the Rector of UMY and Regent of Berau on Wednesday (28/9) at AR Fachruddin A Building.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto M.P., IPM as the Rector of UMY stated in his speech that this MoU could broader the activities between UMY and the Government of Berau. “We will keep striving to broaden the reach of students and work together to improve human resource quality.”

Furthermore, Regent of Berau, Hj. Sri Juniarsih Mas expects the MoU will be implemented well and give benefits to society. “With the signing of the MoU, it is hoped that the cooperation will run smoothly and continuously. As well UMY will be able to provide interesting ideas to support Berau’s development.”
