UMY and UII Team Up on Educational Collaborations

Islam has always encouraged its believers to expand their knowledge. Looking back in time, we can see that Islam has a long history of knowledge invention as well as educational institutes. Nowadays, there are many Islamic-based higher education institutes or universities, such as Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII).

Following to that, UMY and UII inititates a cooperation on various things such as education, research, and community service. The rector of UMY and the rector of UII signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday (20/9) at the AR Fachruddin A Building.

As Rector of UMY, Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP., IPM. expressed his desire to see Islamic universities grow stronger. “UMY and UII have similar ambitions that if both join hands could result in outstanding academic activities and institutional development along with reaching the goal of improving academic quality, human resource quality, and curriculum”

Similar statements were also mentioned by Prof. Fathul Wahid, S.T., M.Sc., Rector of UII, who wished that the collaboration between UMY and UII would be filled with various beneficial activities that would not only giving benefits to UMY and UII but also society in general. “I hope it will improve our capability and capacity to give more benefits to Indonesia.”
