Universities Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) conducted an MoU signing ceremony with the Embassy of Ukraine at Sportorium UMY on March 17, during the 8th International Cultural and Culinary Festival (ICCF). The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., IPM., ASEAN Eng., as Rector of UMY, and HE. Dr. Vasyl Hamianin, Ukraine Ambassador to Indonesia.

This is not the first time The Embassy of Ukraine has visited UMY; they have previously visited UMY and discussed potential collaborations with UMY representatives. It is also planned that students from Ukraine would study at UMY, both full-time and as exchange students, and vice versa. The Ukraine students are also expected to join the international events held by UMY such as the ICCF. Thus, there will be also cultural exchange in addition to educational exchange.
