Establishing educational collaboration with other parties is one of the things that Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) continues to do as part of its commitment to achieving a young and global university. Place and time are no longer barriers to building collaboration in the digital age, as UMY did with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah.

An MoU was signed virtually on Tuesday (20/9) at the AR Fachruddin A Building. Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., IPM, rector of UMY, and Eko Hartono, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, signed the agreement directly.

In his speech, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Eko Hartono is very delightful to welcome the collaboration with UMY. “We hope that it will be filled with various programs that will provide mutual benefits and that we will be able to assist UMY in connecting with universities throughout Jeddah.”

Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto, M.P., IPM., Rector of UMY, stated, “We believe that this is a great opportunity for us, especially to be linked with universities around Jeddah by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah, which will further improve the quality of education in UMY.”

Education, research, community service, improving human resource quality, and scholarships were part of the collaboration. It is hoped that this collaboration will strengthen the relationship between UMY and the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Jeddah as well as give more contribution to Indonesia.
