Promoting Mobility Funding Opportunities and Green Campuses, DAAD Strengthen Collaboration with UMY Stakeholders

On Thursday, 2 May 2024, Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (DAAD)- a German-based funding organization for the international exchange of researchers and students- visited Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. This visitation aims to strengthen the cooperation between UMY and DAAD in Tridharma implementations in Indonesian Higher Education sectors. Director of the DAAD Regional Office Jakarta, Dr. Guido Scheneiders, as the representative, talked about the opportunities for UMY to broaden its network to universities in Germany on research regarding green campuses and mobility funding opportunities. 

In conjunction with the visit, DAAD and UMY co-hosted an informative session themed “Study and Research in Germany and DAAD Funding Opportunities.” This session drew a diverse audience, including researchers, lecturers, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students. Participants received comprehensive information on various mobility programs supported by DAAD, which facilitate academic exchanges and research collaborations between Indonesia and Germany.

Dr. Scheneiders also underscored the advantages of studying in Germany, noting the country’s strong emphasis on sustainability and innovation. He encouraged attendees to consider Germany not only as a destination for higher education but also as a hub for pioneering research in green technologies and sustainable development.
