On A Special Occasion of Eid al-Adha, UMY Shared 13kg of Meats for International Students
Eid al-Adha is a special occasion for all Muslims to learn about sacrifice and generosity. Understanding the significance of this special day, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) ensures that international students feel included and have the opportunity to experience the meaning of qurban during Eid al-Adha.
On Saturday (1/7), 13kg of meats were distributed to international students at the University Residence (UNIRES) of UMY. Both full-time and exchange students were well-received the Qurban meat. Students from a variety of nations such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Yemen, Bangladesh, Cameroon, Gambia, and many more countries were present.
The meat distribution was quite successful, as shown by the international students’ smiling faces. The Cooperation and International Affairs of UMY expected that this sort of event would strengthen ties with international students while presenting the beauty of Islam.
