The Erasmus+ Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals is a program that supports higher education teaching and administrative staff to take part in professional development activities abroad. The training period abroad enables any staff to take part in a training activity abroad that is relevant to their day-to-day work at the higher education institution. It may take the form of training events or job shadowing.

The International Staff Week at the University of Murcia (UMU) finally took place again from May 30th until June 3rd, 2022, following a long break caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) sent one of its delegates to the programme to participate in the international staff week, fully funded by Erasmus+.  58 colleagues from 53 universities representing 30 nations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and Central America engaged in stimulating discussions on the subject of “Management and Promotion of Internationalization” over the course of five exhilarating days.

Dyah Tantri, UMY delegate from Cooperation and International Affairs Office to the event stated “we were welcomed by the staffs of UMU’s International Office who were very welcoming, helpful, and friendly. During the 5 days of the programme, the International Relations Office of UMU shared and presented to us topics on Erasmus+ Projects in Capacity Building, International Mobility Programmes, and the Practice of Internationalization at UMU in a series of interactive workshops. As the topic was based on their own real experience with their staff and the programs that they held, it gave us all an illustration on how the suggested practices works. They were then followed by fruitful discussions by the participants who were curious and keen on learning.”

Dyah continued with “I really enjoyed the week in Murcia. This program gave me a great opportunity to network with other International Office staff from many different institutions all over the world and share each of our own experiences in administration. It provided me with such a valuable chance to ideas with our partners regarding our roles and professional interests. I am very grateful I was able to take part in this programme and would highly recommend it to everyone. I was eager to try out and put into practice what I had learned and to share it with my colleagues when I returned.”
