The China Embassy in Indonesia, led by the Ambassador of China to Indonesia H.E Lu Kang, paid a cordial visit to Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) on (11/05).  The visit aimed to foster closer ties between the two institutions and explore potential collaborations in the field of education and research.

The meeting centered on exploring opportunities for collaboration between UMY and Chinese institutions, with a specific focus on promoting academic and cultural exchanges, joint research projects, and student mobility programs. The representatives expressed mutual interest in establishing robust partnerships that would enhance educational experiences, foster cross-cultural understanding, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge.

Both parties expressed their commitment to follow up on the outcomes of the visit and explore the practical steps necessary to materialize the envisioned collaborations. The visit concluded with an agreement to establish a joint working group that would further explore areas of cooperation, develop collaborative projects, and facilitate ongoing communication between UMY and Chinese institutions.

The Vice Rector for Cooperation and International Affairs of UMY, Prof Dr. Achmad Nurmandi affirmed UMY’s readiness to facilitate collaboration and extend support to initiatives that align with the institution’s strategic goals. He emphasized the potential for joint research projects in areas of mutual interest and the significance of academic exchanges to enrich the learning experience of students.
