In line with the goal of the internalization programs of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), building a global network is one of the most crucial things to do to build a global campus. UMY continues to strive toward the aim of the internationalization program by collaborating with other institutions outside of Indonesia, one of which is Asia University from Taiwan.

On Wednesday (23/11), Asia University visited UMY to discuss future collaboration opportunities with several UMY degree programs. Asia University, an esteemed partner to UMY, has been collaborating on a variety of projects such as student exchange, visiting professors, and joint research.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP., IPM., Rector of UMY, and Prof. Yinghuei Chen, Dean of International College & College of Humanities & Social Sciences of Asia University, expressed their delight and eagerness to see what activities the two universities may co-create through the discussion.

Led by Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., a double degree program was also one of the main topics of discussion during the visitation. Asia University encourages collaboration on such programs to improve each other’s educational quality and provide a more professional experience for the students. Furthermore, the team was separated into departments for a more in-depth discussion.

The visitation is hoped to be a way to strengthen relations between UMY and Asia University in the future. Following the visitation, more various kinds of collaborations are also expected.
