(7/2) – Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held a welcoming ceremony at the Faculty of Islamic Studies of the Inbound Student University of Malaya (UM), Malaysia. The event was mainly about hosting a group of UM students who will attend lectures at UMY for a week.
The event started with welcoming remarks by Anisa Dwi Makrufi, M.Pd.I, who represented as Head of Islamic Education Study Program, followed by the Dean of Faculty of Islamic Studies, Dr. Akif Khilmiyah, M.Ag, and Yordan Gunawan as Director of Office of International Affairs.
There were 22 students from the Academy of Islamic Studies UM, who will attend lectures at Islamic Education, UMY until 15th February. The students will be invited to the fitness center of UMY, visiting Muhammadiyah schools, and also attending lectures at Pascasarjana. They will be allowed to take regular courses at Islamic Education UMY.
Islamic Education UMY and UM have been actively collaborating in various fields, including three-month visiting lecturer, supervisor exchange for master’s program, and research. Besides, Islamic Education UMY had sent seven students to UM and IIUM for a semester exchange program for this semester. (hnl)
