Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and Oita University Japan Signed a University-Partnership

Master of Nursing Program Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and Oita University of Nursing and Health Sciences, Japan agreed to have a university-partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 1st August 2019. The MoU signing took place at Postgraduate Meeting Room, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and was signed by Deputy Director of Academic Affairs in Postgraduate Program, Prof. Dr. Siswoyo Haryono, M.Pd, and a representative from Oita University, Noriko Kuwano, Ph.D. Both parties agreed to have a mutual commitment in many offered-programs such as joint research, joint supervisor, student mobility, and staff exchange.

With the signing of this MoU, UMY and Oita University increasingly have broad cooperation to benefit both parties mutually. In the discussion, UMY wishes Oita University to send its students not only to Master of Nursing but also all departments provided. Although this is the first cooperation agreement, Oita University took part in a conference held by UMY before, namely The Third ICOSI, which was held in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Besides, the deal could be implemented immediately to provide new opportunities for many parties. (hnl)
