IRO UMY NEWS – It is a dream for many students to study abroad and experience different learning atmospheres. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta helps out its students realizing their objectives by offering an exchange program. This program facilitates the students to learn at overseas universities that they are willing to attend and cover-up themselves with immense overseas learning exposures. This year, International Relations Office (IRO) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) mobilizes many of its students to join the exchange program to some universities abroad; one of them is Sun Moon University South Korea.

Salma Athillah Ihfa, one of the UMY students from the International Program of Accounting (IPAcc) batch 2018, becomes the candidate for the exchange program selection coordinated and arranged by Student Mobility IRO UMY. Salma has successfully passed the selection stage and enables her to meet the dreams of studying abroad and mingling with its international exposure.

The opportunity to join an exchange program at Sun Moon University, South Korea, which started from February 5 to July 25, 2021, makes her feel overwhelmed this spring semester. She said, “Right now, I’m joining the student exchange program in South Korea, Sun Moon University. I’m thrilled because South Korea is one of the countries that I want to visit the most”. She also extended, “Also, I’m thankful for IRO for the opportunity, so I’m not only visiting the country but also studying here”. Not to forget, the gratitude is also expressed to the office that assisted and guided them in realizing her dreams to come true. Finally, she said, “It’s like a dream come true for me. Thank you, IRO. I’ll do my best for the future”.

All in all, she encourages all her fellow friends to join the exchange program offered by IRO UMY and not miss the opportunity to experience international exposure, which can help them out in the future.
