A Warm Welcome from UMY Embraces Second Batch of International Students

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has unveiled a comprehensive plan to welcome its second batch of international students, ensuring they have a smooth transition and are well-informed about their stay in Yogyakarta.

Idham Badruzaman, Ph.D., Head of the International Relations Office, highlighted key aspects of UMY’s support for international students. The university has provided a clear study timeline and a comprehensive scholarship policy covering tuition fees, living allowance, accommodation, and minor health treatments. Additionally, UMY offers a three-month Bahasa Indonesia class to help students acclimate to their new environment.

To facilitate integration into campus life, UMY has outlined specific dress code guidelines for men, non-Muslim women, and Muslim women. Students are also encouraged to respect their roommates, maintain cleanliness, and observe quiet hours in their accommodations.

UMY boasts an array of on-campus facilities to enhance student life, including Café 1912 for socializing and assignments, LPKA for counseling and student affairs services, Poliklinik UMY for medical needs, self-study rooms, the UMY library, a fitness center, and a student finance counter for scholarship claims.
