International Program of Government Affairs and Administrations UMY held Journal of Government and Politic – 3rd International Conference (JGP-IC)

Faculty of Social and Political Science Study Program of University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) held the Journal of Government and Politic – 3rd International Conference (JGP-IC) at the Postgraduate Building Amphitheater Room on Tuesday ( 30/10), and officially opened by the Chancellor of the (UMY) Dr. Gunawan Budiyanto, MP.

The international conference entitled Trends in Politics and Government dealing with Sustaninable Development Goals presented speakers from several countries, such as Prof. Siddharth Chandra (Michigan State University, USA), Associate Professor Dr. Halimah binti Abdul Manaf from (Universiti Utara Malaysia), Dr. PB Anad (University of Bradford, UK), Dr. Andreas Ufen (Giga Hamburg, Germany), Assoc Prof. Dr. Pradtana Yossucuk (Maejo University, Thailand), and Rachmawati Husein, MCP PhD (University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Indonesia).

The Chief Executive of 3rd JGP-IC, Dr. Phill Ridho Al-Hamdi, MA said that the international conference was attended by 46 participants from several countries such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Japan and South Korea who would present the results of the research. According to him, 3rd JGP-IC is a real form to achieve the internationalization target of the UMY Government Science Study Program in 2021.

“JGP-IC is one of the superior activities possessed by the UMY Government Science Study Program and also as one of the real forms of increasing our existence on the scene international in 2021, “said Ridho.

3rd JGP-IC, Ridho continued, was one of the superior activities of the UMY Government Science Study Program. In addition, the UMY Government Science Study Program, which has been accredited A from 2003 to BAN-PT, is the only study program that has an international class (IGOV) in Indonesia. IP UMY also has a UMY Government Science Master Program (MIP) which is also accredited A from BAN-PT and internationally accredited from APSPA (Asia Pacific Society for Public Affairs).

The hope of holding 3rd JGP-IP activities, according to Ridho, is to provide an opportunity for academics, researchers, professors, students and government practitioners to be able to explain and discuss the problems that have to be solved together.
