There are five Maejo students, Thailand, have completed the student exchange program for one semester in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY). A farewell was held at the international relations office on Saturday (19/1) at AR Fachruddin B building.

UMY and Maejo University have a MoU to exchange their student in a credit transfer program for one semester. Both universities demand to have a reciprocal action in implementing the MoU.

Eko Priyo Purnomo, M.Res., Ph.D, as the Executive Director of Cooperation and International Affairs (CIA) UMY stated that “there are many fruitful experiences from going abroad especially for student exchange programs. Not only benefitting in terms of academic experience, but also a brand-new atmosphere of studying in foreign land”.

To become a reputable university in Asia, UMY takes an effort to build an understanding with various universities. Therefore, UMY provides many opportunities of scholarship for foreign students who want to study either full or short time.

However, UMY also committed to increase the student mobility across the world including both out bond and in bound students. (mmi)
