UMY Lecturer invited by British Academy to London UK

27/06/2018. Eko Priyo Purnomo, S.IP., M.Si., M.Res., PhD, a senior lecturer at Department of Governmental Affairs and Administration, Jusuf Kalla School of Government (JKSG), and Executive director for cooperation and international affairs, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) is invited by British Academy in London, UK.

The program aims as part of its internationalization strategy between Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta and University of Bradford working to develop stronger links with academic and research institution in South East Asia. Further, it’s an important partner country that has a Memorandum of Understanding for research collaboration and student and staff mobility.

The participants are from some reputable Universities such as University of Cambridge, London School of Economics, University of Glasgow, University of Dever (US), and many more from other countries likes India. Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta is the only Indonesian University invited to this event.  Eko Priyo Purnomo granted to join a three years funded project by British Academy. The first being the culmination workshop of a three year British Academy funded research project on inclusive, smart and sustainable cities at British Academy in Carlton House Terrace in London on 26th June. Second, it’s the annual conference of the development studies association that held on 27th to 29th at the University of Manchester where Dr Eko as the speaker and discussant on inclusive cities of the event.

As a reputable University, This occasion aimed not only to increase the number of literacy in the international arena, but also as a form of strengthening the bilateral relationship between UMY with other universities that could be opened up the opportunity for UMY to widen its cooperation and relationship, in the field of education through join publication on precarious Journals and will have a international conference.
