Princeton’s student chooses UMY to study Bahasa.

October 2 – UMY is becoming increasingly popular in the eyes of the world, in line with the vision and mission of the “Young & Global”.  On this morning (02/10) there are visiting student from Princeton University, USA who visited International Program of Government Affairs and Administration (IGOV) Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta.

There are seven students and accompanied by two teachers from Princeton University, United States and one officer from the “Dragon Program”. In addition, this visit here is aimed to learn Indonesian language and culture for one semester. The Princeton’s Dragon Program is usually implemented for two months but this time we extended for one semesters aims to make our students can learn Bahasa more and mingle around with local student here. Thank you for gave us chance to study here and helping a lot with the admission stuffs such as Visa and etc” said Christine as teacher of US Student.

Other international students who have accepted as the Volunteers for the Dragon Program will assist the US Studenst in the whole of semester. Accompanying them during Bahasa class as well as help them in the whole a semester. “It is such a great time to meet the Dragon students again this year. Hopefully, we can improve ourselves in terms of the services. We are pleasant you to learn Bahasa and adapt the Indonesian culture here” said Rijal Ramdani, S.IP,.MPA the director of IGOV.

After the welcoming party at IGOV, the students were brought to International Relation Office (IRO) to meet Assoc.Prof.Dr.Eko Priyo Purnomo as General Director of Institute of Cooperation  and International Affairs. Then they are been explained the visa-making process by IRO’s immigration department and finally to the campus tour program.
