For foreign students who would like to conduct an exchange student program at UMY, please contact your international office of your university. Some schemes have been established with the universities that have MoU with us. If your university does not have MoU with our university, you still can conduct an exchange student program here at UMY through applying directly to us with the following application form:

UMY Student

The Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta provides an opportunity for all students to join Student Exchange Program with UMYs’ partners. Students can join this program either for one semester (6 months), two semesters (12 months) or double degree program. This program has a lot of benefits.

By Participating in this program, the student can enrich the academic experience with many students and professors all over the world. Students will have various skills such as global insight, familiar with the second language -English and other languages-, as well as familiar with the culture and social life in many other countries in order to become an inclusive and multicultural society, can appreciate the diversity.

[su_accordion] [su_spoiler title=”IIUM – Malaysia” style=”fancy”] The exchange program has been a featured program of the Faculty of Law at UMY in cooperation with Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws International Islamic University of Malaysia (AIKOL IIUM) since 2007. The Faculty of Law of UMY sends students to AIKOL IIUM for a month and hosts AIKOL IIUM students for a month to study in the International Program of Law and Sharia (IPOLS).

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) provides an opportunity to all UMY students to experience an exchange student program at Universitat Jaume I (UJI), Spain. This program is a partial scholarship which covers the tuition fee. You could take  a tour of the Universitat Jaume I virtually through its official website here:

4. TOEFL score (PPB TOEFL-like is accepted)

6. Financial and permit statement from the parent (will be asked if the applicant passed the first selection and step forward to the interview)

SIAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

SIAS PARTIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is provided to students in any major at UMY to study at SIAS for one year each batch. The scholarship covers tuition fees (RMB 10.000) and dormitory fee for one year for UMY students to study Chinese language at SIAS. UMY also provides SIAS students an opportunity to study in the International Programs for one semester (in odd/even semester).

Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta provides the opportunity for students of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to study in the International Programs at UMY. Conversely, UMY also sends the students of the international programs (International Program of International Relation (IPIREL) and The International Class of Governmental Studies (IGOV)) to study at UUM.
